Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend two super fun events in this city that I love so much – Toronto. The first was a get together hosted by the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies on Friday and the second was [FAT] Arts & Fashion Week 2014.
Friday night MM and I headed East (gasp! we so rarely venture East of Spadina!) to the Jam Factory for Bevy 004. It was our first time attending a SOBDL event and we had a fantastic time – so fantastic, in fact, that I completely forgot to take pictures. Luckily, the lovely Teena (whom we met at the event) posted a great event recap that you can read here.
Tickets were $20 (and sold out in 8 hours!) and upon entry we were given 2 beer tickets. Additional beers could be purchased for $5. The beers on tap were divided by Spring (lighter beers, including a yummy raspberry and lemon beer and Denison Weissbier) and Winter (darker beers, like stouts and one that had a cayenne pepper taste). I’m a HUGE fan of wheat/lighter beers but I braved a stout and got through it! We also snacked on delicious mushroom and cheese buns from Hot Bunzz. To die.
On Saturday night we ventured out to the East end again (!) for [FAT] Arts & Fashion Week 2014. I first attended this event last year (you can see my photos from the 2013 runway here). My runway shots turned out kind of cruddy this time so I’m not bothering to include any here, but BlogTO posted a great roundup of their favourite looks from the runway shows.
Just outside the runway area there was some live art installation happening and I snapped a few pics of that (below). It was…odd.
